Pick Your Bearing Duty.

NSK bearing support is organized around the verticals where speed, preload, cleanliness and uptime decide the part number.

Machine Tool Spindles

Spindle bearing decisions begin with rpm, runout, heat and preload. We help teams distinguish general radial ball bearings from NSK super precision angular contact sets intended for high speed machining.

The same process applies to robotics, EV motor support, packaging conveyors, steel processing rolls and linear guide assemblies. Each vertical has a different failure pattern: grease heat, shock load, washdown, misalignment or particle contamination.

Our work is to match those patterns to the bearing family without forcing one generic answer across all applications.

In machine tools, we ask whether the position is grease lubricated or oil air lubricated, whether the bearing is mounted as a matched pair and whether thermal growth has already been observed. In robotics, the conversation shifts toward compact envelopes, low starting torque and repeatable joint motion. In EV drive packages, high speed noise, cage behavior and temperature stability become more important than a simple dimensional match. Packaging and food lines often need sealed bearings that tolerate washdown practice without turning every replacement into an expensive precision upgrade.

That industry-by-industry discipline keeps the product list useful. A plant engineer can bring one installed bearing number and still receive a recommendation that explains the operating reason behind the choice.

"The best replacement was not the cheapest bearing. It was the one with the clearance and preload note our spindle rebuilder could trust." - CNC Maintenance Manager

Application evidence we review

Before proposing a bearing family, we look for the evidence that separates a stable replacement from a risky one. Useful details include actual speed, shaft fit, housing fit, vibration history, contamination level, cleaning chemicals, relubrication interval and whether the bearing sits inside a paired or preloaded arrangement. These details are often more important than the first catalog line that shares the same bore and outside diameter.
